SNOWBALL 2023 RECAP + exclusive Ellie & Piper pictures

This year, for the winter formal dance, I was so so so blessed to be able to go with my best friend, Piper. I've talked about her on the blog before and y'all know that she is one of my favorite people in the entire world, and we had so much fun together. Seriously, I'm not being dramatic when I say that this was probably one of the best nights of my entire life.

To kick off the night, Piper was able to come over early so that we could get ready together. She braided my hair for me, and we made so many memories in the few hours we spent getting all dolled up. Piper looked absolutely gorgeous in a dress she made herself and I have never felt so blessed to have the most incredible best friend in the world.

And then we went to take pictures at a nearby railroad track! In every single live picture we took, you can just see the laughter and the joy that we had. We laughed so hard and took some of my favorite pictures in my entire camera roll, and I cherished this time so much. We simply goofed off and were silly together, and the pictures turned out adorable. And, it was extra fun that my mom, sister, and Piper's whole family were able to join us.

The entire goal of this night was to be lowkey, low-stress, and fun, and our dinner plans were no different. We picked up dinner from Chick-fil-A and then camped out in a well-lit parking lot for a picnic in Piper's truck. It was simple, but full of laughter and good conversation. We enjoyed our meal, prayed together, and were able to have some deep conversations about the things on our hearts, and that was so good for my soul. Dinner with Piper wasn't anything spectacular, but it was perfect for us.

After dinner, the main event - the dance! We picked up a friend and headed to the school to party the night away, and man, we had a blast. I'm not going to lie - at first, the dance was kind of boring with very little actual dancing happening, so Piper and I decided to create our own fun. Neither of us are very coordinated (there's a reason why we run, haha) or are very good dancers, but that didn't matter. We danced our hearts out, whether we knew the song or not, whether we were any good, or whether anyone was watching. We laughed our heads off and hyped up each other's awful dancing, but truly, it was an incredible night. My soul felt so full from the time I was able to spend with Piper and our friends, and it honestly was the perfect reset I needed.

I am so thankful for the amazing night I was able to spend with Piper and some of my closest friends at Snowball! If I can leave you with anything as I share these memories, it would be this - surround yourself with people who help you be the best version of yourself. Fill your life and your time with the people who encourage you, challenge you, and ultimately, fill you up. This might mean that your circle isn't as big, but it will mean that your circle is even stronger and even higher quality.

What was a moment in your life when you realized that God had put some incredible people in your life? I'd love to hear in the comments below!
